What Can You Do?

Stay home. Limit your interaction with people. Of course that is almost impossible. You may live with others, have to take care of your family or friends, have a job deemed essential (like me), or need groceries to support yourself. So, when out and about, pleas follow these procedures below:

  • Where a mask. A mask protects you and others around you. An N95 mask is surely to be the best type of mask, but anything protecting your mouth and nose will help to prevent the virus from entering your system.

  • Social-distancing. 6-10 feet apart. A person without a mask can sneeze and launch their sneeze 6-10 feet in front of them. Remain 6-10 feet whenever possible.

  • Gloves. Gloves are not actually necessary. Surgeons where gloves to prevent blood from getting on their skin. They are not touching themselves or any other objects, only the tools they use. When it comes to protecting yourself, gloves do the same as your skin. The only time you should wear gloves to protect yourself is if you have cuts or open wounds on your hands.

  • Wash your hands. When coming home from a public place and touching items other people also touch, wash your hands as soon as you get home. Avoid touching your face until you do so. Wash with warm water and soap for at least 20-30 seconds (I sing the ABCs three times).

  • Be respectful. At no point in time do you know what is happening in a stranger's life so be polite, especially to those who are still working to serve you. Everyone is confused in times like these, so be patient, be courteous, and be respectful.
